Megastar Shah Rukh Khan will be honored with the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera at the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, which is set to take place in Locarno, Switzerland from August 7 to 17.

Bollywood banshah Shah Rukh Khan will not receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious 77th Locarno Film Festival. The film festival will be held in Locarno, Switzerland. On this occasion, Shahrukh starrer 'Devadas' will be screened on August 7 at Chitro Tsawal.

The organizers have announced that Shahrukh has been selected for this award for his outstanding services to the film industry. He is an Indian superstar and global icon who has acted in more than a hundred films in 32 years.

He has acted in all kinds of genres and in remarkable roles. In recognition of those services, we are honored to be selected for this award,' he said on the website of the Chitrotsavala. Shah Rukh Khan is described as King Khan, a legend in acting and a hero of the people. Shahrukh became the first Indian actor to receive this award.


Many of Khan’s films are loved globally and have made him a hugely popular name among audiences around the world, leading him to represent his country and many of his films across numerous prestigious film festivals across the globe, the statement read.


After a four-year-long gap, Shah Rukh Khan made a triumphant return to the big screen in 2023 with three consecutive blockbusters. His comeback film, Pathaan, produced by YRF, was a massive success, followed by Jawan, directed by Atlee.

Both films shattered box office records and became two of 2023's highest-grossing films. His third and final release of the year, Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, was also a hit.


Other acclaimed individuals who have received this award in the past include Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, calypso music legend the late Harry Belafonte, Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-Liang among others.
