Postal Job 21,413 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies (Schedule-I, January 2025) have been released in various postal circles nationwide. These appointments are made based on the marks obtained in class 10th.
The selected candidates will have to perform duties as Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. Depending on the post, you can get a starting salary of Rs.10,000 to Rs.12,000. Interested candidates should apply online by 3rd March.
Vacancy Details:
There are 1,215 vacancies in Andhra Pradesh and 519 in Telangana.
Candidates for these posts should work for four hours a day. Apart from these, incentives are given to BPM/ABPM/Doc employees, especially in the form of incentives for services related to the Indian Postal Payment Bank. The incentive depends on the value of those services. The Department of Posts will provide them with a laptop/computer/smartphone to perform their daily duties. The concerned office should have accessible residences. Cycling should come.

Eligibility:
- 10th passed
- should be Maths, English, and local language are mandatory. That means AP and Telangana natives must study Telugu subjects till class 10th.
- Cycling must have come along with computer knowledge.
Age:
- Should be between 18-40 years.
- SC, Maximum age relaxation is 5 years for STs, 3 years for OBCs, and 10 years for disabled persons.
Salary Allowances:
- BPM posts: ₹. 12,000 - ₹. 5.29,380 per month
- Dak Sevak posts: ₹. 10,000 - ₹. 24,470 will be the pay.
Selection Process:
- Candidates in 10th standard
Appointments will be made based on the merit of the marks obtained. The advertisement mentions the branches having vacancies, in which post, reserved/ unreserved details. Candidates should check them and give options according to their preferences. Option 1 for the first preference followed by Option 2... should be filled like this. Depending on the opportunity, one of these postings will be allotted. Information will be sent to the selected candidates through SMS/email/post.
Application Fee:
- No fee payment for SC, ST, Disabled, or Transwomen.
- The remaining candidates have to pay Rs.100.
Branch Post Master (BPM):
For this post The nominees will supervise the activities of the concerned branch. In addition to postal duties, India Post Payment Bank affairs should also be taken care of. Maintenance of records, online transactions, smooth running of day-to-day operations, and delivery of letters. Marketing affairs related to postal should also be fixed. A team leader should lead the respective branch. Postal schemes should be taken to the masses.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM):
The people involved in this job are responsible for the sale of stamps/stationery, delivery of letters, deposits, and payments related to Indian Post Payment Bank,
Other transactions should be settled. The tasks assigned by the Branch Postmaster should be completed. People should be made aware of various schemes.
Dak Sevak:
Those who join these duties are letters should be distributed. Also, stamps/stationery should be sold. Complete the tasks prescribed by BPM and ABPM. The duties of the Railway Mail Service and Postal Payment Bank should be taken care of. Postal schemes should be promoted.
