What is the mean of IPO?

"IPO" stands for Initial Public Offering. It refers to the process through which a privately held company offers shares of its stock to the public for the first time, thereby becoming a publicly traded company. In an IPO, the company typically hires an investment bank or underwriting firm to help determine the offering price, draft the prospectus, and facilitate the sale of shares to investors.

IPOs are often used by companies to raise capital for expansion, acquisitions, or other purposes, and they also provide liquidity for existing shareholders, such as founders, employees, and early investors.
