Delhi: Bottling Subsidiary of Bottling Investments Group (BIG) has been shut down by soft drink giant Coca-Cola. In India, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) as well as international bottling operations are in the hands of BIG. On June 30, the company closed the Big Corporate office.

With this, the operations of India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will come under the control of Coca-Cola's internal board. Related sources say that Coca-Cola will focus on brand and products by reducing the stake in bottling. Started in 1997, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages has 16 plants in our country. The company supplies soft drinks to 25 lakh retailers through 3500 distributors.

Earlier this year, the company raised Rs 2,420 crore by selling stakes in plants in Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, and northeastern states to independent companies. Gate Dadi announced investments of Rs.1387 crore for the Maharashtra plant and Rs.3000 crore in Gujarat in November. It was announced in May this year that Rs.700 crores will be invested in Telangana.
